Getting There
Despite the distance involved, about 750 miles south of the channel ports, Mas Forge is easy to get to. There are airports nearby at Perpignan, Gerona or Beziers, offering reasonably priced flights with a number of carriers on different days and each with easily bookable car hire facilities.
If you want to travel by rail then fast trains are available to Perpignan from where a frequent local train service still runs to Villefranche, a mere 3 miles up the valley from Mas Forge.
The more adventurous can drive all the way, one of Hedley's favourite routes is south of Cherbourg with a stop off in Le Mans - he regularly makes this journey in a series one Landrover.

Map -Description
We are halfway between the Mediterranean and the alpine resorts of the Cerdagne, just within the borders of the ‘Park Regional Naturel’ in the Eastern Pyrenees.
Mas Forge lies on the western side of this valley, conveniently placed between the towns of Vernet-les-Bains and Corneilla-de-Conflent. Both towns are within easy walking distance and have a wide variety of activities for all the family.
Vernet-les-Bains, for example, enjoys a public swimming pool, sports centre, health spa and riding school, while Corneilla-de-Conflent has large caves, with arguably some of the best stalactites and stalagmites in Europe and a 12th Century Romanesque church.
In addition, there are over 200km of marked footpaths and cycle paths, many of which rise above 2000 metres in altitude. Of course, if you simply want to relax, there is no better place than Mas Forge. You are more than welcome to share the family swimming pool, enjoy the gardens or explore the property, which is situated in five hectares of private woodland.
