Places to visit

The Cerdagne and Capcir are beautiful high-altitude plateaux from where most of the skiing begins in the Eastern Pyrenees.

From the Vauban fort of Mont Louis (1500 metres) the Cerdagne descends to the Spanish frontier and the border town of Puig Cerda (1200 metres) before rising again to the principality and tax-free haven of Andorra. Although a popular destination in both winter and summer it has lost none of its rural charm and should not be missed.

Perhaps the best way to view the mountain scenery is from the Red and Yellow train which begins its ascent at the medieval town of Villefranche de Conflent and terminates at Le Tour de Carol.

The Capcir is more rugged than the Cerdagne and is the start for many beautiful mountain walks. In addition, there are numerous lakes which offer all manner of water sports and some of the ski resorts open there lifts during the summer making mountain access easier.

We know the area and will be delighted to show you how to make the most of this beautiful country.
